Creoir, Finnish mobile tech experts, announces its partnership with Zound Industries to design, develop and manufacture the Marshall London smartphone. This world-class smartphone was unveiled in front of an exclusive audience in London last night alongside a line-up of rock legends.

Creoir, a Finnish mobile technology company that specialises in tailored wireless devices, was chosen by Zound Industries to bring to life a vision of a smartphone that delivers high-quality sound, worthy of the best rock music in the world. The result is the Marshall London smartphone, which makes it seamless to listen, record and create superb, high-quality audio for the very first time.

Unique and personalised audio specification

Marshall London allows for high-quality listening thanks to its powerful dual speakers, which feature enhanced bass technology and a dedicated hifi-grade sound card by Cirrus Logic. In addition, the stereo microphone has been designed for high-quaility recording on the go and offers exceptional noise reduction.

Two stereo jacks are located on the top of the phone, allowing two users to share music simultaneously and at different volume levels. A global wide equalizer allows the user to personalise music played on the phone without having to adjust the sound on each individual music app. The revolutionary M-button gives quick access to any music player, including the London’s pre-installed music player, which supports popular formats such as MP3, MP4, AAC and many more. To ensure all music lovers are catered for, the London is also capable of crystal-clear playback of FLAC files, giving justice to old music collections.

Design and development took place in Oulu, Finland, a city with a rich expertise in mobile technology. The city, home of Creoir, is enjoying a tech renaissance after the departure of Nokia and Microsoft’s handset manufacturing operations. Oulu also has a rich music heritage, famous for its rock scene and live music festivals.

Pekka Väyrynen, Creoir CEO, said: “Zound Industries chose to work with Creoir so they could see their concept become reality without the need for the technical and manufacturing know-how for building a smartphone. Working with their talented people has been really inspiring and we are excited to see their Marshall London smartphone launch.”
Konrad Bergström, Zound Industries President and Co-Founder, said: “We needed to make sure we had the best partner to help engineer the Marshall London. That’s why we chose Creoir, a partner who could meet our high standards.”

The Marshall London was unveiled last night at an exclusive London launch event. Guests enjoyed appearances from Mick Jones (former Clash guitarist), Phil Campbell from Motörhead, Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols and the London Community Gospel Choir.

The Marshall London smartphone will be available via TeliaSonera shops and at the Marshall online store.
